Things to Avoid
- Hosing down equipment
- Neglecting filter changes
- Improper application or usage
- Operating equipment with frayed, burnt or exposed wiring
- Operating equipment without proper knowledge of operating instructions
General Things to Check:
- Are Hinges, knobs, grates etc in good condition
The Food Safety Standards specify that potentially hazardous foods must be prepared, stored, displayed and transported at safe temperatures.
Safe temperatures are 4°C or colder or above 60 degrees celcius for warmed foods.
- Are door gaskets worn or torn?
- Are motors noisy or don’t turn on at all?
- Is hood system operating?
- Are hood filters clean?
- Does the gas fired equipment burn a steady blue flame?
- Is fire suppression system operational?
- Has Fire suppression system been inspected recently?
- Are all utilities confirmed on and resets checked?
